Lovedale to Home
Left our last AirBnB accommodation for the journey in Lovedale. Relaxed start, not a long drive today. Starting with a pleasant drive through the Hunter Valley before making our way onto the freeway into Sydney. Basically, not much happening once you’re on the freeway. Fortunately, the big tunnel in Sydney means a quick trip to out the other side nowadays.
Once out the other side we stopped for a tea break at a very busy roadside stop. Loads of people, truck selling produce and a truck selling food and coffee. Roy couldn’t resist a sausage roll! It was very noisy and very windy. Fortunately, where we had parked next to a large truck, we were a bit protected and able to make our morning tea from the thermos.
From there, basically (almost) non-stop to home. The weather went downhill dramatically as we approached Canberra. Sunshine gave way to rain and the temperature plummeted, ah, welcome home!
At least the rain didn’t persist and we were able to unpack in the dry, with a couple of extra jumpers on. We had to defrost the laundry freezer to fit in the fish brother Ian had gifted us, and made a quick trip to the local shop for a few groceries – even though our house sitter Tim had kindly left us some milk for tea/coffee.
Home sweet home.
