Wednesday 17th June; Brushgrove to Saphire Beach

Just a short trip today; visiting family

We had breakfast at Brushgrove with Ian and Rhonda out on the deck looking over the river. The fog was so thick that we couldn’t see the river but it was still lovely sitting out there and chatting. After doing the Sydney Morning Herald quiz together we got organised to get up and head off. Ian loaded us up with frozen fish which we put in the fridge and freezer in the back of the van truck. Moving all the fridge stuff out into a esky bag with ice. They also gave us a bag of citrus fruit which was lovely.

Our lodgings were at the caravan park at Sapphire Beach. It’s very pretty here. We walked along the beach and picked up quartz pebbles. Roy climbed up a big rock as usual and I also climbed up. On the way down I decided to jump the last little bit expecting a soft sand landing but the sand was like concrete and I landed hard and ended up on my bum. Sandy! Pretty sure I did something nasty to my ankle too 🙁

We headed over to Moonee Beach pub for a nice dinner and then back to base for coffee and the state of origin football game.
