Tourist day; R&R
After a leisurely breakfast up on the upper level of Sonya’s place, looking out over Lightning Ridge, we grabbed the dirty washing and went in hunt of the laundromat. There was a nice lady at the laundromat who helped us with everything and took five dollars for the wash. It was going to take 45 minutes so we wandered across the road to the John Murray art Gallery. In 45 minutes, we had successfully purchased my birthday presents of a limited edition print, a metal print and a poster print. We also got a poster print for DIL as we were going to be arriving at their place in two days’ time on her birthday and pretty much as the next grandbaby is due. Sadly, the one we wanted for her didn’t have a framed version. But the rolled up poster was easy to transport.
We returned to our lodgings, with the wet washing, for morning tea and a biscuit and a bit of a relax before making lunch which we ate outside on the table. We headed into town for a bit of a look around.
Looked at a couple of opal shops. The opals are very beautiful but nothing jumped up and down and said that we had to have it so we walked out empty-handed.
We went to the IGA did some grocery shopping. A very nice shop with lots of choice and good prices. Back to Sonya‘s place again, sat outside for coffee and toasted banana bread until we were eaten alive by midges- so we came indoors for a rest up again before we go out for dinner. Dinner at the bowling club again. Huge plates of delicious food. Back to the room for an early night
