Two and a half thousand Km in 2.5 days is quite a journey from Canberra to Alice Springs.
An early, 5am start on Friday arriving in Renmark just before 5pm. Admittedly with some generous coffee and lunch stops along the way. We definitely needed to buy Roy and new hat in Hay!
Team dinner at the Renmark Club, a good night’s sleep and a another 5am start headed for Coober Pedy.
Renmark. To Coober Pedy to Alice Springs
Arrived at Coober Pedy around 4.30, which was just a little late to visit our favourite art gallery. Checked in at the Mud Huts and after a pre dinner drink we walked down to John’s Pizza place.
Sunday was another 5am start, for which we were eventually rewarded with a stunning sunrise.
Sstopped for a cuppa break and change drivers at Marla, another stop at the Desert Oaks roadstop and on to Alice. A brief stop or two for photos at the Finke track sign and the Alice Springs welcome sign.
